About this product
Araliya Keeri Samba Rice is the small, pearly short grain that Sri Lanka saves for celebrations. It has a natural fragrance, stays separate when cooked and takes on colour evenly, which is why it is the rice for kaha bath, the yellow rice served at weddings, almsgivings and birthdays, and the rice many families cook when guests are coming.
Keeri samba rice cooks quickly, in about fifteen minutes, and needs less water than a long grain. Use it for yellow rice, ghee rice, milk rice and egg curry, or simply as a fragrant white rice beside a good curry. The small grains also make a soft, creamy kiribath and a gentle rice for children.
Araliya mills this samba in Sri Lanka and packs it at origin, free of sand, stones and black seeds. Buy Araliya Keeri Samba Rice online in the UK from Chandra World Foods in 5kg and 10kg bags, stocked in Britain and delivered nationwide.
